Okay, so I've decided to put a bit of my personal life in this journal.

So, first I should let you know that I am in French Immersion, a Canadian Bilingual Program that goes throughout a child's elementary and secondary education(and even some post-secondary courses) that creates a french and english class environment for an eventual fluency in the Français Langue.

My brother and I are in this program. For me having completed grade 11, I have come to a conclusion that the French Immersion was one of the best decisions in my life; not only do I know French, but being in Immersion has given me the opportunity to have taken lessons from some very, very good teachers. Considering how the parents who care most about their kids and their education are more likely to put their kids in French Immersion than the ones who don't as much, it's also a given that a lot of the classmates I've been with have become rather responsible, aware and intelligent individuals; good influences.

Now, here is the problem. My younger brother happens to have a very strong, obvious case of ADHD, and also seems to have a small learning disability where it's hard for him to write down what he thinks properly. His school has been pressuring my parents to switch him to the regular English Program since he was in Grade 2. It's now the end of his Grade 5 year, and my parents have decided that they will switch him to English.

Considering how my brother and I regard the French Program very highly, we are both upset about this decision. Even with his learning disability, my brother greatly enjoys the French Immersion program and both he and I are aware that if he is to switch, it will be a tragic loss.

In conclusion, even though I sympathize with my parents on how hard it was to reach this decision, I cannot support it and I feel like I must help my brother to stay in French Immersion; though at this point in time I am at a loss as to what to do.
